Project Management Office - PMO Manager

Reports to: Director of Engineering

FLSA Status: Full Time, Salary-Exempt

SUMMARY:

A hands-on, high visibility and high impact position, the Project Management Office - PMO Officer is responsible for dealing internally with sales, marketing, operations, engineering, and executive leadership, as well as, externally with end user customers, channel partners, supplier partners. The PMO Officer will report directly to the VP of Sales and have a matrixed relationship with the VP of Operations, VP of Marketing, and Product Manager

The PMO Officer will work closely with all departments to coordinate and achieve the company’s goals with a focus on trying to exceed our customers’ expectations by delivering industry-leading value and service.

The lead is responsible for the strategy, structure, efficiency, and effectiveness of the daily operations of all Project Management functions. The PMO Officer is responsible for the coaching and development of team members.

DUTIES:

  • Align department goals with organizational objectives and ensure successful execution.
  • Develop and oversee key metrics for tracking project success and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Supervise, mentor and coach Project Managers on methodologies, tools, and professional growth.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and accountability within the team.
  • Champion project management practices across the organization, delivering training, and building stakeholder buy-in.
  • Manage projects from presales through delivery, ensuring scope, budget, and timelines are consistently met.
  • Define and document project scope, goals, and deliverables, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, budgets, and risk mitigation.
  • Lead cross-functional teams by collaborating with department Managers to allocate resources and align objectives.
  • Monitor budgets, track profitability, and lead regular status updates with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, and proactively manage changes and escalations.

Other duties may be assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit at a desk. Standing and walking to different departments will be required. The employee will need vision to see close, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, talk, hear and listen.

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, working Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • PMI certification (e.g., PMP) preferred.
  • 7+ years of Project Management experience delivering equipment, controls and automation solutions in manufacturing.
  • Expertise in project management methodologies (e.g., scope, schedule, risk, cost, and stakeholder management).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with successful outcomes.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentorship skills to develop and empower high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a focus on influencing stakeholders.
  • Skilled at building relationships, and fostering collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
  • High business acumen and a cross-functional mindset.
  • Innovative, forward-thinking approach to improving processes and efficiency.
  • Proven expertise in aligning stakeholder expectations, securing buy-in, and driving decisions through trust and effective communication
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
