Quality, Compliance, and EHS Manager

Reports to: VP of Operations

FLSA Status: Full Time, Salary-Exempt

SUMMARY:

The Quality, Compliance, and EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) Manager, as a member of Combi’s leadership team, will have key responsibilities including contributing to the development of Combi’s strategic plan, implementation of policy and procedures, setting performance goals and objectives, ensuring we meet customer expectations, participating in new product development processes and developing and managing various business processes.
 
You will also be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing Combi’s quality, environmental, health, safety, and compliance programs. You will ensure that our operations comply with all relevant regulations and standards while fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship which includes continuous improvement processes. 

Your leadership will ensure that Combi team members safely deliver all products and services, those products and services meet established quality standards and customers’ expectations, and that Combi is a responsible corporate citizen as we achieve our goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and maintain companywide EHS policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, federal, and international regulations, including maintaining applicable records.
  • Develop strategies and lead implementation activities to continuously improve EHS performance and ensure alignment with organizational goals.  
  • Develop strategies and lead implementation activities to continuously improve quality, lean manufacturing, and lean engineering culture.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of ISO management systems ensuring that organizational processes and procedures comply with ISO standards, including policies, procedures, work instructions, forms, and record keeping.  
  • Ensure that employees are properly trained in safety protocols, emergency procedures, and regulatory requirements, ISO standards requirements, and best practices.
  • Identify potential hazards and risks in the workplace and develop strategies to mitigate and resolve.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop protocols to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents. 
  • Lead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.  
  • Maintain OSHA Safety Documents and filings. Monitor and report key measures of company performance as related to responsible duties.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor key supply chain improvement programs in cooperation with supply chain and production functional groups.
  • Coordinate evaluations of WEEE, RoHS, REACH, and similar programs; communicate status internally and externally.
  • Coordinate with and provide reports to corporate personnel as required.
  • Coordinate and lead site business continuity program.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, auditors, and other external stakeholders on EHS, Compliance, and ISO matters.  
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders implementing robust internal audit processes and feedback to drive operational excellence.
  • Communicate regularly with key stakeholders to provide updates on EHS, ISO, and compliance activities and performance.  
  • Model Combi’s mission, vision, and values and recognize and reward team members for doing the same.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk. Standing and walking to different departments will be required. The employee will need vision to see close, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, talk, hear and listen.

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, working Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

SKILLS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of ISO standards, EHS regulations, standards and best practices.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. 

Education and Experience:

  • BS in Quality Management, Engineering, Business Administration or related field.  
  • Professional certification in quality management is desirable.
  • 5+ years of quality management.
  • Experience in a machinery manufacturing operation.
  • Packaging Automation experience a plus
